What got you into cosplay?
I've always liked dressing up, and when I started watching anime, I thought it would be really cool to dress up as certain characters. It all started when I wanted to dress up as Sailor Neptune for Halloween in the 7th grade. Later on, I found out people actually did this as a hobby and it took off from there.
What was your first costume and why?
That would be Sailor Neptune way back when I was 12. My mom made it for me since I didn't know how to sew at the time.
However, the first costume I actually made myself (and actually knew cosplay existed) was Twilight Suzuka from Outlaw Star.
What is your favorite costume and why?
It's always changing. I really love my Esther costume because I'm a huge Trinity Blood fan and I freakin' love Esther as a character. It's also my most intricate costume to date and the one I put the most work into. I also love cosplaying Chii - I get some of the best reactions from people when I cosplay her.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
My dream costumes keep changing. Right now, it would have to be Queen Esther Blanchett from Trinity Blood -- the gigantic white and red ball gown. I'd go crazy strewing fake rose petals everywhere. XD
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Probably the costume contest at AFO '06. My good friend Roy and I cosplayed Harry and Melfina from Outlaw Star, and right before exiting the stage, he kissed my hand (in true Harry fashion) and the entire audience went "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"
Do you participate in masquerades?
No. But I will soon! Ohohoho
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I've won a few awards, my highest being Best Craftsmanship.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a graphic design student at Flagler College who likes to sew and cosplay whenever possible. I'm very quiet and sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get me to talk, but I really do like meeting new people. ^^
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I have a boyfriend who is quite possibly the happiest, most energetic person on the face of the earth, yet he wears nothing but black and is an extreme metalhead. We cosplay together on occasion, so chances are you will see us together at many a con. I love him so!
